Welcome! My name is Rene Tyree and I am a graduate student in military history with focus on the Civil War. I've designed the blog to keep the mass of information coming from my coursework, book reviews, and research organized and to plug into the rich conversations in the blogosphere on this topic.

Hi!
Belated response! Welcome to AMU!! I’m guessing your first class was with Dr. White. If so, it’s excellent.
Stay in touch!

Hi Rene!
Great blog on the endlessly fascinating CW. I just ran across Wig-Wags while looking for Kindle content for my spanking new Kindle 2.
I’m wondering if you take requests … I’ve found the Civil War in Indian Country very interesting ( http://thomaslegion.net/cherokeeindiansandtheamericancivilwar.html ). I have a great great uncle who was an enlisted cavalry man in the 2nd Cherokee Mounted Rifles, so I’ve read a little about if – a fascinating story, although the way the Cherokee nation tore itself apart during and after the war is a bit depressing.
The request is … if you come across any related info in your research, please post! A GREAT topic that hasn’t received enough attention and study, in my opinion.
Thanks for Wig-Wags,
Jim

Jim,
Thanks for dropping by and for the kind words. AND for the invitation to post material I find on your fascinating topic. YES, of course!
And I’d love to read any sources you might have come across. Great stuff.
Hope you’ll visit Wig Wags often.
Kind regards,
Rene
